Mythbackend is segfaulting with:

MythSocket(822bce8:28): readStringList: Error, timed out after 30000 ms.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. # mythbackend
2. Do some stuff in mythfrontend (watch TV, view recordings, view upcoming recordings list, view program finder,etc etc.
3.
Actual Results:  
Mythbackend segfaults.

Expected Results:  
Mythbackend should not segfault

It looks like it may be related to bad configuration. However, can you get a backtrace from the actual crash?

Will I need to to rebuild my entire system with the -ggdb flag, or just mythtv for the backtrace?

Nevermind.  It was a mysql problem.  I am going to rebuild my entire world with the -ggdb flag once my current situation with MythTV is resolved...
