Description Martin Sprenger 2004-01-20 07:18:22 UTC
I booted of Gentoo-x86-basic-1.4-20030911.iso and started a stage2 install using stage2-x86-20040117.tar.bz2 on my 1400 Athlon Thunderbird, Elitegroup K7S5A, 512 MB.
(10 of 71) Compiling/Merging (sys-libs/glibc-2.3.2-r9::/usr/portage/sys-libs/glibc/glibc-2.3.2-r9.ebuild).
These are the last lines I got on my terminal:
gcc wcsftime_l.c -c -std=gnu99 -O2 -Wall -Winline -Wstrict-prototypes -Wwrite-strings -freorder-blocks -march=athlon-tbird -pipe -mpreferred-stack-boundary=2  -fPIC    -I../include -I. -I/var/tmp/portage/glibc-2.3.2-r9/work/glibc-2.3.2/buildhere/time -I.. -I../libio  -I/var/tmp/portage/glibc-2.3.2-r9/work/glibc-2.3.2/buildhere -I../sysdeps/i386/elf -I../linuxthreads/sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/i386 -I../linuxthreads/sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux -I../linuxthreads/sysdeps/pthread -I../sysdeps/pthread -I../linuxthreads/sysdeps/unix/sysv -I../linuxthreads/sysdeps/unix -I../linuxthreads/sysdeps/i386/i686 -I../linuxthreads/sysdeps/i386 -I../sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/i386 -I../sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux -I../sysdeps/gnu -I../sysdeps/unix/common -I../sysdeps/unix/mman -I../sysdeps/unix/inet -I../sysdeps/unix/sysv/i386 -I../sysdeps/unix/sysv -I../sysdeps/unix/i386 -I../sysdeps/unix -I../sysdeps/posix -I../sysdeps/i386/i686/fpu -I../sysdeps/i386/i686 -I../sysdeps/i386/i486 -I../sysdeps/i386/fpu -I../sysdeps/i386 -I../sysdeps/wordsize-32 -I../sysdeps/ieee754/ldbl-96 -I../sysdeps/ieee754/dbl-64 -I../sysdeps/ieee754/flt-32 -I../sysdeps/ieee754 -I../sysdeps/generic/elf -I../sysdeps/generic -nostdinc -isystem /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-pc-linux-gnu/3.2.3/include -isystem /usr/include -D_LIBC_REENTRANT -include ../include/libc-symbols.h  -DPIC -DSHARED     -o /var/tmp/portage/glibc-2.3.2-r9/work/glibc-2.3.2/buildhere/time/wcsftime_l.os -MD -MP -MF /var/tmp/portage/glibc-2.3.2-r9/work/glibc-2.3.2/buildhere/time/wcsftime_l.os.dt

Comment 1 Martin Sprenger 2004-01-20 11:49:14 UTC
I tried installing with the same livecd as mentioned above and
stage2-i686-20030910.tar.bz2. System locked up while compiling sys-libs/glibc-2.3.2-r9::/usr/portage/sys-libs/glibc/glibc-2.3.2-r9.ebuild too.
So I guess it's not a problem with stage2-x86-20040117.tar.bz2 but with glibc-2.3.2-r9.ebuild since I was able to install gentoo without any problems a few days ago using Gentoo-x86-basic-1.4-20030911.iso and stage2-i686-20030910.tar.bz2.
