Hello, I know this is really all beta what I'm using right now, but anyway. Maybe it helps the final versions of MPlayer 1.0 and XFree 4.4.0. Like I said, MPlayer says it has disabled DPMS but it really has not. DPMS switches my panel off after an off_time of 5 minutes. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install MPlayer 1.0pre3 and XFree 4.4.0rc2 2. Play a movie and wait till your off_time which is chosen in XF86Config kicks in. Actual Results: DPMS performs display power managment while mplayer is running. Expected Results: Mplayer disables DPMS properly while playing back a movie. Thanks!
Possibly an upstream issue, but anyway... reassigned.
Please attach your XF86Config and /var/log/XFree86.0.log as plain-text attachments (using the create new attachment link).

Can you try the latest pre5-r4? There was an upstream patch that was tossed around to take care of this issue. Either a) it's put out in pre5-r4 or b) I have to pull the patch from upstream and apply it.
Hello, I don't have XFree anymore. I use Xorg since it went stable on Gentoo. And I never had DPMS issues with Xorg and mplayer. Sorry! Sebastian
Okie dokie. Closing this down then.
