I just had some problems with my browser. It sends the form while I still wrote down my description for this bug. So here it is:

In this tutorial the user is asked for install CVS with an downloaded package and not via emerge?! I think thats not the real way to use Gentoo and then installing packages yourself.

You may not have noticed, but this tutorial is generalized toward users of any distribution, as shown by the following sentence:
"Otherwise, you'll need to either track down a binary package for your particular distribution, or install it from sources."
Comment 3 Benjamin-Timm Broich 2004-01-20 01:40:11 UTC
Maybe we should insert a second way how to install it via emerge, I know it isn't really hard to do but I think most user will install CVS only on this shown way. The given "Note" that you also can use a binary package or anything else is not really helpful it should be highlighted or anything else ;)

This has been in my todo list for some time now. The main issue here is that I don't know if we own the rights to the document or not. As you can see it is one of the few documents that is not released under the cc-by-sa license we use.

I'll need to check this out, but you'll have to excuse me when I tell you it will be february before I have an answer (unless someone else does the honors :)

Okay, just found a message from Daniel about the conditions regarding the published work. It's fine for us to update the documentation. I'll do this asap.
