net-dns/idnkit-1.0-r1 unconditionally installs *.a and *.la files:

/usr/lib64/libidnkitlite.a
/usr/lib64/libidnkit.la
/usr/lib64/libidnkit.a
/usr/lib64/libidnkitlite.la

Please provide support for USE=static-libs to make this optional.
