Description numerodix 2004-01-18 12:21:46 UTC
I'm trying to install amule, gtk and wxGTK are listed as dependencies, I've installed them with the versions given in the title. All builds complete but when I start amule, the window comes up, a dialog box that comes up and disappears, then the screen freezes. It's still being drawn because when I minimize/maximize, it's being displayed correctly each time. However the fields are not clickable, nor are the buttons. I get this in the console:

(process:13535): Gdk-WARNING **: locale not supported by C library

(process:13535): Gtk-WARNING **: Locale not supported by C library.
        Using the fallback 'C' locale.

You might try using wxGTK-2.4.2. It works much better with gtk2 than previous versions. If you try it and it works, please let me know and I'll change the dependencies in this ebuild.
Comment 2 numerodix 2004-01-19 15:35:51 UTC
Should I recompile wxGTK and then amule or just the former? I tried both ways and unfortunately, the problem persists. The error is the same, as is the symptom.

please check my comment at:
http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45091#c5

and follow it...

and then I will see that this bug can be closed safely :)
Comment 4 Rob Cakebread (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-09-01 10:29:45 UTC
This version is obsolete and not in portage anymore. The new wxwidgets eclass is being used and should solve a lot of the amule problems so if you have a problem with current versions in portage please check for existing bugs or open a new one. Thanks.
