When I tried to install kdemultimedia-3.2.0_beta it wanted to downgrade to alsa-lib-0.9.8. I already had alsa-lib-1.0.1 as part of the alsa 1.0.1. If it downgraded it would caused corruption. I emerged with alsa-lib-1.0.1 and had neither a compile error nor is it malfunctioning... listening to music as I type. I only have alsa on this machine. Side note: even thou this KDE is another version and no corruption will occur a note about programs like Juk and KGpg (don't know of others added). If they are recompiled they will cause corruption using 3.2 instead of 3.1 libraries, correct? Not exactly sure how to handle it... but at least a warning wouldn't hurt.
Because it was ~x86.
