Description .:deadhead:. 2011-10-05 19:50:43 UTC
Hi, using the Gentoo LiveCd to install a system to booting via iscsi I've not been able to complete the installation because it was missing the sys-block/open-iscsi package.

Can you please add it to the LiveCD? It'll be very useful!

Are you talking about the weekly builds? Can you specify the exact LiveCD version please?

16:15 <+CIA-88> jmbsvicetto * r818 /trunk/releases/weekly/specs/ (2 files in 2 dirs): Added sys-block/open-iscsi to the admincd specs - bug 385777.

I've added the package to the admincd specs.

@release:
I vote against adding it to the minimal CD specs. Opinions?

@base-system:

Please drop the die or we won't be able to include this package in the CDs.
IIRC, Robin also had some issues with this package.

Why you don't agree in adding it to the minimal cd?

cheers

This is not something that is required for the vast majority of Gentoo installs and we need to draw a line at what packages we include in the minmal CD or it won't stop growing in size.
I also think this fits nicely with the idea of the admincd.
