Description Mark Lewandowski 2011-10-03 17:58:35 UTC
Mongodb 2.0.0 was released on Sept 12, 2011. We should have an official mongo-2.0.0 ebuild in portage.

Reproducible: Always

Hello and thanks for the bug report.

We're waiting for https://jira.mongodb.org/browse/SERVER-3829 and possibly https://jira.mongodb.org/browse/SERVER-3827.

See http://groups.google.com/group/mongodb-dev/browse_thread/thread/38e8c30606a300c3 for relevant discussion.

In the interim, here is a mongodb-2.0.0.ebuild that seems to work, although it does not build the shared library due to some linker errors that I haven't had time to debug.

This patch is strongly suggested if using the ebuild I posted.

Hi Mark,

Thank you for this bug and proposed patches, as Johan mentioned we'd had a discussion with upstream about this matter and they plan to fix this (soon I hope). Meanwhile, I'm against pushing such an ebuild in tree for all the reasons described in the discussion.

Rest assured that we'll bump to 2.x quickly when it's fixed by upstream.

Cheers
