I tried to CC some overlay maintainers on bug 385333, but it didn't work for some of them as the emails aren't registered in bugzilla. It would be nice if this could be made a requirement for inclusion of an overlay in the layman list.
I do not strongly object such requirement. Before enforcing such we will need your help with fixing the existing ones, though.
We request bugs for overlays requests, so this is partially solved now. But we can't enforce that in reality. Actually, we could run a few qa scripts in repositories.xml to check if the repos are still valid, if they have valid profiles/repo_name entry, if the authors have bugzie accounts, if the RSS feeds work, etc, but that's not a topic of this bug. For this bug I will close it as WONTFIX. I will include in our docs that if an existing overlay maintainer doesn't have a bugzie account, people can contact us, so we can contact him and take the necessary actions.
