I ported globalmenu firefox plugin from ubuntu to gentoo. All it takes is several patches for firefox and a tarball of code (which I extracted from the debian's package). Here's how the endresult looks like: http://i56.tinypic.com/25a57x1.png (no your desktop will not change language into Serbian, don't worry :) ) The package can be found in my overlay (https://patch-tag.com/r/brcha/brcha_overlay), or by following the links: https://patch-tag.com/r/brcha/brcha_overlay/snapshot/current/content/raw/www-client/firefox/firefox-6.0.2-r1.ebuild and the patches + tarball: https://patch-tag.com/r/brcha/brcha_overlay/snapshot/current/content/raw/www-client/firefox/files/unity-globalmenu-build-support.patch https://patch-tag.com/r/brcha/brcha_overlay/snapshot/current/content/raw/www-client/firefox/files/mozilla-kde.patch https://patch-tag.com/r/brcha/brcha_overlay/snapshot/current/content/raw/www-client/firefox/files/firefox-kde.patch https://patch-tag.com/r/brcha/brcha_overlay/snapshot/current/content/raw/www-client/firefox/files/globalmenu.tar.xz (remaining files in ${FILESDIR} can be found in regular portage) Enjoy global menu in Firefox :) PS: It would be probably better if the globalmenu.tar.xz is used as part of the original source, but Ubuntu's Firefox package I snatched (https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/6.0.2+build2+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.11.04.1) is using the older .diff.gz format for debian directory, so one must download about 70 MB just to extract several KBs of source, which sounds harsh to me. If it is imperative to use direct sources, then I'll change the ebuild accordingly. Reproducible: Always
It is extremely unlikely that the Mozilla team will maintain such a thing, unless someone volunteers to maintain it. Jory, what do you say?
We do not have the manpower to maintain this.
