Description alantian2 2011-09-27 03:42:51 UTC
Libreoffice falls back to default ugly gtk theme. under kde with oxygen-gtk
When I run libreoffice it, it shows:

(4:502)$ libreoffice

(soffice:7288): Gtk-WARNING **: /usr/lib64/libreoffice/program/../basis-link/ure-link/lib/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.11' not found (required by /usr/lib64/gtk-2.0/2.10.0/engines/liboxygen-gtk.so)

(soffice:7288): Gtk-WARNING **: /usr/lib64/libreoffice/program/../basis-link/ure-link/lib/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.11' not found (required by /usr/lib64/gtk-2.0/2.10.0/engines/liboxygen-gtk.so)

(soffice:7288): Gtk-WARNING **: /usr/lib64/libreoffice/program/../basis-link/ure-link/lib/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.11' not found (required by /usr/lib64/gtk-2.0/2.10.0/engines/liboxygen-gtk.so)

So I did some searching with google, which suggested an issue related to out-dated libc++ shipped with libreoffice-bin.

so I tried soft-links libstdc++ from my gcc initialization, by

mv libstdc++.so.6 libstdc++.so.6.orig
ln -s /usr/lib64/gcc/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/4.6.1/32/libstdc++.so.6  ./libstdc++.so.6

then tried libreoffice, which shows:
(4:502)$ libreoffice
/usr/lib64/libreoffice/program/soffice.bin: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib64/gtk-2.0/2.10.0/engines/liboxygen-gtk.so: undefined symbol: cairo_surface_create_for_rectangle

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. run libreoffice
Actual Results:

(soffice:7288): Gtk-WARNING **: /usr/lib64/libreoffice/program/../basis-link/ure-link/lib/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.11' not found (required by /usr/lib64/gtk-2.0/2.10.0/engines/liboxygen-gtk.so)

(soffice:7288): Gtk-WARNING **: /usr/lib64/libreoffice/program/../basis-link/ure-link/lib/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.11' not found (required by /usr/lib64/gtk-2.0/2.10.0/engines/liboxygen-gtk.so)

(soffice:7288): Gtk-WARNING **: /usr/lib64/libreoffice/program/../basis-link/ure-link/lib/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.11' not found (required by /usr/lib64/gtk-2.0/2.10.0/engines/liboxygen-gtk.so)

with ugly theme

Expected Results:
works fine with oxygen-gtk

This has been discussed a few times already. The short version: As long as upstream doesn't decide to package the kde4-support, there is nothing we can do about that. (beside doing our own packages, but that's a whole different discussion).
