Samuli Suominen, that message is not an issue to solve, since I have chroot'ed into the directory that network booted clients use as their OS image. I bet, that if I would be emerge'ing into local image, the '/proc' directory would be mounted. Though, you might have pointed an important requirement. Whether is that possible to emerge openal into a network booted client directory or just locally booted only, does it heavily depend on the '/proc' directory mounted state?
Comment 11 Samuli Suominen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-09-27 13:34:38 UTC
You need to mount /dev and /proc before chrooting.

Do you have any specific article about the way that they should be mounted before chrooting and emerging openal, any official documentation, maybe?
