Please see the last note(s) on: https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=179920 https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=217775 Gentoo users are reporting defects in output of standard ifconfig output, and appropriate patches have apparently been blocked for an extended period due to openswan. I'm not sure if a bug for openswan was ever opened to fix...couldn't find it bugzilla search and there wasn't a dependency for either bug listed so I'm creating it here. Note from spanky/vapier: "we've already included the fix long ago (since i migrated us to the upstream cvs tree). it was reverted because some stupid scripts broke when the output of ifconfig changed its output format. fix openswan if you want this to go anywhere."
be nice to convert all of openswan to iproute2 and not have it use net-tools

(In reply to comment #2) > % grep old-tools net-tools*.ebuild > % > > This bug is obsolete, closing. The use flag is "old-output", not "old-tools".
Ah ha, right. And that is only in ~arch versions of net-tools
I actually think this may have been fixed in 2.6.38. If somebody finds this is not the case, please reopen this. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=785180 + 04 Jan 2014; Mike Gilbert <floppym@gentoo.org> openswan-2.6.38.ebuild, + openswan-2.6.39-r1.ebuild: + Drop dep on net-tools[old-output], bug 383887.
