Every time i try to emerge -u from docbook-sgml-utils-0.6.11-r2 to docbook-sgml-utils-0.6.12 i got an error in ./configure state, a lot of error info from jade, starting with:

jade:../../doc/docbook-utils.sgml:9:0:E: reference to entity "BOOK" for which no system identifier could be generated
jade:../../doc/docbook-utils.sgml:1:0: entity was defined here
jade:../../doc/docbook-utils.sgml:9:0:E: DTD did not contain element declaration for document type name
jade:../../doc/docbook-utils.sgml:11:11:E: there is no attribute "LANG"
jade:../../doc/docbook-utils.sgml:11:19:E: there is no attribute "ID"
jade:../../doc/docbook-utils.sgml:11:34:E: element "BOOK" undefined

Comment 1 Mike Gardiner (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-01-16 03:45:46 UTC
Try remerging docbook-sgml-dtd-3.1-r1 to start with.
Comment 2 Mark Duckworth 2004-02-06 20:57:57 UTC
That works for me but I get stopped up here:

If you have no Invariant Sections, write "with no Invariant Sections"
instead of saying which ones are invariant. If you have no
Front-Cover Texts, write "no Front-Cover Texts" instead of
"Front-Cover Texts being LIST"; likewise for Back-Cover Texts.

If your document contains nontrivial examples of program code, we
recommend releasing these examples in parallel under your choice of
free software license, such as the GNU General Public License,
to permit their use in free software.

I reemerged dsssl stylesheets after doing a bit of research and all is well. But man this is a mess and complex for just a layman programmer ;-)
Comment 4 Mike Gardiner (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-04-27 22:58:18 UTC
It is, docbook reorganisation is top of my list atm, but I'm very busy. Thanks for your report.
Comment 5 Morgan Christiansson 2004-08-31 17:10:15 UTC
I encountered the same problem in current portage, unmerge+merging as stated in comment #3 by Mark Duckworth solved the isuse. Thanks.
