In brasero, it's set to use the libburn backend by default (IUSE="+libburn"). I'd like to propose dropping the + so that brasero defaults to the built-in backend. The reason i'm proposing this is on every system in my house i've tested this on (4-5 systems), on many different distros, the libburn backend produces nothing but bad discs that are only useful as coasters. brasero works fine for me with libburn enabled, I think you are suffering a different problem and, then, you should open a separate bug report with your exact problems when burning to try to know what is broken and needs to be fixed As a side note, I am using dev-libs/libburn-1.0.0
