Plone 2 is in its rc3 phase and is being touted by plone as the best option for new installations. I am going to work on an ebuild for it, but I am wondering if there is some reason that there is not even a masked ebuild for it. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Typically don't do ebuilds on rc's, unless it's really needed. Also I'm behind in my work on zope development. Currently working on next versions of zope-config, zprod-manager, the zope rc script, and zproduct.eclass. It's complex because they have to be done at the same time. kutsuya
I understand. Currently, I am having trouble getting it to work from the tarball. If I find any interesting gotchas, I'll pass them along.
kutsuya: you might have a look at debian's zopectl, maybe we can adopt it
lanius: Will do. I'm also looking at the zopectl in 2.7. Wanting a consistent feel between the different versions if possible.
I already wondered, whether there will be a Plone 2.0(rc?) ebuild and thought about trying to make one myself. But unfortunately I am not very experienced in creating ebuilds and I have not a clue of zprod-manager or the zproduct.eclass. And I don't have time to learn this stuff right now. :-( So, I just want to tell you, I am glad, that someone is still working on Plone in Gentoo. :-)
there is now a masked ebuild for rc3 in portage
