Description kim 2011-09-13 22:02:27 UTC
Hello,

after default couchdb installation the files in /etc/couchdb are owned by root:root. But if you want to add an admin user or change the admin password with couchdb (and possibly other things too) you get an error (see attachment) because couchdb want/need to write in this files.

Thanks for fixing :)

I have the same problem.
Changing permissions fixes the problem:
chown root:couchdb /etc/couchdb/*.ini
chmod 660 /etc/couchdb/local.ini
chmod 664 /etc/couchdb/default.ini

This has been fixed already.
