When starting QEMU-KVM with ac97 sound hardware enabled (command line option "-soundhw ac97") I get the following messages: audio: Failed to create voice `ac97.pi' audio: Failed to create voice `ac97.mc' audio: Failed to create voice `ac97.pi' audio: Failed to create voice `ac97.mc' However, if I export "QEMU_AUDIO_DRV=alsa" before starting QEMU the problem do not occur. This is probably the same issue reported as Debian bug 451234, since I do not have OSS (or OSS compatibility) enabled. What seems strange to me is that I installed qemu-kvm with only ALSA audio backend enabled ("alsa" USE flag). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. This issue is resolved in newer versions and we've finally yanked this old version out of the tree.
