The above URL contains a patch that adds Xv support for neomagic chipsets (common in many laptops) with XFree 4.2. This makes apps that support Xv (such as mplayer) display much nicer. Unfortunately, it's mixed in with a bunch of other patches. Realistically, since I'm the person requesting this I should filter out the other stuff and supply a clean diff, unfortunately, I don't know enough C to have any idea what is what. A description of what is containted in the diff is at: ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/supplementary/X/XFree86/XFree86-4.2.0-SuSE/src/xf86/xf86.changes Feel free to ignore this, but it's on my wishlist.
Added XFree86-4.2.0-Suse-Updates.patch to /usr/portage/x11-base/xfree/files/4.2.0, which will resolve this. Rsync, and remerge X.
