Description Peter 2011-09-08 13:25:21 UTC
The crash reporting assistant said this wasn't useful, but it always says that. (Konqueror crashes a lot recently.)

Anyway, this backtrace looked helpful, I had just hit the back button the browser from a www.mail-archive.com page to a google search:

No response in a month.
Comment 3 Peter 2011-10-22 08:03:14 UTC
Here's a response. I haven't had a chance to post some info that probably isn't necessary and won't be helpful. That stack trace indicates a very CLEAR bug. Not a "resolved" bug.

I would never mark a bug as resolved just to get it out of the way on my own software. And I probably wouldn't ask for information that wasn't necessary either but. "Is your computer plugged in?"

I get that its free software but... have a little pride.
Comment 4 Peter 2011-10-22 08:10:13 UTC
Nevertheless I will try to post emerge --info when I can, just in case that's helpful.
Comment 5 Peter 2011-11-19 06:47:29 UTC
Sorry, this took so long.

Anyway, I updated to kernel 3.0.6 and whatever else and I'm still getting this crash.

Comment 10 Peter 2012-03-21 17:51:00 UTC
I don't know. konqueror 4.8 is still not stable on gentoo. Personally, I'm not going to emerge all of kde 4.8, which isn't stable, just to test konqueror when there's not even any official word upstream.

I would bet that if the bug upstream isn't closed, then its probably still broken in 4.8. There's 10 different people commenting on that, about 10 other bugs "marked as duplicates" and 40 votes. That one comment at the bottom that it might be fixed isn't exactly encouraging.

Respectfully, I really wish you guys wouldn't try to close bugs, just to close them.
Comment 11 Peter 2012-03-21 17:58:52 UTC
Thanks.

Also, this:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=294675

suggests at the very least there are still kjs/konqueror crashes in 4.8
Comment 12 Michael Palimaka (kensington) gentoo-dev 2013-01-08 13:40:28 UTC
I see no activity on the upstream bug in a while.

4.9.3 is stable now, have you since experienced this crash?

Seems no.

I'm trying to fix the blocks for qt-4.8.4. But since the crash was there in 4.8.1 and one of those upstream bugs has been confirmed, the other not, and neither fixed, its extremely unlikely that its fixed.

No activity usually doesn't mean something is fixed.

But if 4.9.3 is stable, maybe I will try to get it to update to that since I'm having so much trouble with 4.8.4
