Description Asfand Yar Qazi 2011-09-02 10:20:57 UTC
Recently built www-client/chromium-15.0.865.0 on Gentoo prefix, and although it builds correctly, on start, it displays the following error message:

[18505:18505:92967520887:FATAL:zygote_host_linux.cc(129)] The SUID sandbox helper binary is missing: /usr/lib/chromium-browser/chrome_sandbox Aborting now.
Aborted

I have the chrome_sandbox file, but obviously not in the usual location:

$ ls -l [EPREFIX]/usr/lib/chromium-browser/chrome_sandbox
-rws--x--x 1 aq2 team87 13716 Sep  2 09:09 [EPREFIX]/usr/lib/chromium-browser/chrome_sandbox

According to this page: http://forums.opensuse.org/english/get-technical-help-here/applications/464252-chromium-doesnt-start-after-updating.html

the installation procedure or something has changed since chromium-14..... but don't yet know what that means.

May investigate this later, but putting it up in the bug tracker for now.

Chromium 15 compiled for me successfully today.

So could close this?
Comment 2 Fabian Groffen gentoo-dev 2011-09-26 12:59:14 UTC
cool, but doesn't the chromium ebuild need fixes?
