Description Jeremy Murphy 2011-08-29 12:35:23 UTC
When I try to play the videos at the aforementioned URL in Konqueror (4.6.5), they work fine if Konqueror is configured to use KHTML. If it is configured to use WebKit, no video is displayed but I can hear the audio. (Try the frog one, for example.)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Configure Konqueror (4.6.5) to use WebKit.
2. Try to watch a video online.

Actual Results:
Can hear audio but can not see video.

Expected Results:
Can see video and hear audio.

Sounds like missing feature in kwebkitpart in upstream. Did you file a bug upstream or contact the developer, if this should work?
Comment 2 Ian Whyman (thev00d00) (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-10-23 15:55:30 UTC
Hi,

Please test against kwebkitpart-1.2.0 in the kde overlay and confirm that whether this is fixed.

Thanks!

This is now in main tree. Please test and confirm status or I will have to close this WORKSFORME.
Comment 4 Jeremy Murphy 2011-10-30 10:58:37 UTC
Sorry, I started testing and found that now videos were being opened in new VLC windows instead of in place (in the browser) and got distracted by that. I'll get back to you in a couple of days with a detailed report.
Comment 5 Jeremy Murphy 2011-11-02 04:47:12 UTC
OK, this is the new situation in 1.2.0: videos play (hooray), BUT they are opened in a new window, which is not the expected behaviour. (KHTML opens in place as expected.)

Shall I close this bug and open a new one for 1.2.0, or just change the subject of this one?

Screenshot of bug in 1.2.0

As you can see here, the VLC plugin has opened in a new window by itself but it should be embedded in the webpage behind it.

Please just make a new bug, otherwise stuff gets mixed up.
