The provided MozillaFirebird script is broken. In particular, the "-remote" option for firebird is at best unreliable. I'm using the attached script instead.

Committed. Thanks!
Hmm, I was quite happy with the previous script - it was working for me. Anyway, the new one looks good, but has one little glitch. When there is no Firebird running, but Thunderbird is, mozilla-xremote-client returns 3 instead of 2! Since Thunderbird is Mozilla-based, remote client connects to it properly, but cannot execute openURL() command, which prevents us from starting Firebird with the message "Unable to send command to running Mozilla Firebird instance" Gosh, your bugzilla doesn't let me reopen this bug. I guess I should submit it as a new one if nobody replies on it...
You can't reopen the bug because you didn't submit it, and you're not a developer. It's a pretty standard bugzilla configuration. Thanks for the bug report. I've updated the MozillaFirebird in portage cvs. Should be available via rsync in a half-hour or so.
