Description Dmitry Grigoriev 2011-08-25 05:16:30 UTC
Since yesterday, `emerge -pvuND world` gives me:

...
[ebuild   R    ] dev-php/xdebug-2.1.0-r1  PHP_TARGETS="php5-3* (-php5-2*)" 0 kB
...

The following keyword changes are necessary to proceed:
#required by dev-php/xdebug-2.1.0-r1[php_targets_php5-3], required by @selected, required by @world (argument)
>=dev-lang/php-5.3.8:5.3 ~amd64
#required by dev-lang/php-5.3.8[pdo,-sqlite3,sqlite], required by dev-php/xdebug-2.1.0-r1[php_targets_php5-3], required by @selected, required by @world (argument)
>=dev-db/sqlite-3.7.7.1 ~amd64

The following mask changes are necessary to proceed:
#required by dev-php/xdebug-2.1.0-r1[php_targets_php5-3], required by @selected, required by @world (argument)
# /etc/portage/package.mask:
>=dev-lang/php-5.3.8:5.3

The following USE changes are necessary to proceed:
#required by @selected, required by @world (argument)
=dev-php/xdebug-2.1.0-r1 php_targets_php5-3

But I still have PHP_TARGETS="php5-2" in my etc/make.conf, no changes there:
# grep -r PHP_TARGETS /etc/*
/etc/make.conf:PHP_TARGETS="php5-2"

# emerge --info

The flag is masked:

# These ABIs are in constant change and currently only available for SVN snapshots
php_targets_php5-2
php_targets_php5-4
Comment 2 Dmitry Grigoriev 2011-08-25 05:39:00 UTC
How can I unmask it? Thanks.
Comment 3 Dmitry Grigoriev 2011-08-26 01:27:16 UTC
Any help? Putting "php_targets_php5-2" into /etc/portage/profile/use.mask had no effect.
Comment 4 Jeroen Roovers (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-08-27 15:01:32 UTC
Quoting profiles/package.mask:

# Ole Markus With <olemarkus@gentoo.org> (21 Aug 2011)
# Masking php:5.2. No longer maintained by upstream
# Will be removed in a few months, depending on how much noise this will create

=virtual/httpd-php-5.2
=dev-php5/pecl-bbcode-1.0.2-r1
=dev-php5/pecl-dbx-1.1.0-r1
=dev-php5/pecl-fileinfo-1.0.4-r2
=dev-php5/pecl-htscanner-0.9.0-r1
=dev-php5/php-gtk-2.0.1-r4

Comment 5 Dmitry Grigoriev 2011-08-30 08:08:30 UTC
That didn't help to solve. :( Still same messages from emerge.

You need to negate the entry:
-php_targets_php5-2

That will buy you a few months before the entire thing is purged.
