Hi, A problem has recently occured on all linux systems using PDNS, the CPU load reaches around 2.00 and my MySQL server processed 100,000 within a few minutes the other day due to this bug, this means that PDNS will not work at all so I have had to install bind temporarily, could you please create a new ebuild including a patched version of PDNS. Thanks in advance. Kind Regards Mark Rawson Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install PDNS 2. Install MySQL 3. Setup PDNS 4. Start both programs Actual Results: the CPU usage for one MySQL process reached around 70% and the CPU usage of PDNS reached around 30% Expected Results: The software should have allowed the serving of DNS queries without any problems instead of many SQL queries and a high system load. The address to see all the emails concerning this problem is: http://mailman.powerdns.com/pipermail/pdns-users/2004-January/date.html The patch for this problem that needs to be included has been written by the software producer and can be found here: http://mailman.powerdns.com/pipermail/pdns-users/2004-January/001039.html
No need to patch, 2.9.14 fixed the problem. A simple bump would suffice: http://doc.powerdns.com/changelog.html#CHANGELOG-2-9-14
fixed under net-dns/pdns-2.9.15, thanks for letting me know.
