Description Jeff Kowalczyk 2011-08-15 00:39:37 UTC
Attached please find build.log exhibiting a compile error in qemu-kvm-9999.ebuild, present since approximately 2011-07-26.

The compilation error trace is lengthly, the innermost message is the subject of this bug report.

Thanks.

Reproducible: Always

9999 ebuilds merely grab the latest upstream code and try to build it. Please contact upstream about any issues you may have.
Comment 4 Jeff Kowalczyk 2011-08-20 20:46:44 UTC
Additional info: today a compile of qemu-kvm-9999 completed successfully, with no change in the upstream revision which is still at 44755ea36fee3f0b1093ef27404def8857602274, same as when this bug was filed.

The Windows XP VM (used daily, reliable) is crashing now, so there are potentially other issues for upstream to look at if I can isolate a problem on this platform.

Sat Aug 20 10:38:07 2011 >>> dev-libs/glib-2.28.8
Sat Aug 20 11:15:04 2011 >>> app-emulation/qemu-kvm-9999

I'm wondering if something is going on with glib, which has been remerging periodically without a version bump (changing USE):

Thu Apr 14 05:51:50 2011 >>> dev-libs/glib-2.28.6
Sat May 21 20:29:40 2011 >>> dev-libs/glib-2.28.7
Mon Jun 6 10:02:51 2011 >>> dev-libs/glib-2.28.8
Sat Jul 2 12:52:04 2011 >>> dev-libs/glib-2.28.8
Mon Jul 4 09:03:35 2011 >>> dev-libs/glib-2.28.8
Tue Aug 16 16:35:19 2011 >>> dev-libs/glib-2.28.8
Sat Aug 20 10:38:07 2011 >>> dev-libs/glib-2.28.8

Anyway, thanks, I won't reopen the bug, but there is something unexplained going on here.
