Description Carl Bach 2004-01-11 09:24:15 UTC
Hi,
there is a version for bestcrypt from http://www.jetico.com/linux/ now, 1.5.1, that is supposed to work for Kernel 2.6.x. I'm requesting an ebuild for it.
Simply copying the ebuild for 1.4_p2 to 1.5_p1 does not work; it compiles and installs fine, but it always says "kernel modules not loaded". The init.d files do differ, and I feel there is the problem. I cant fix it by hand, sorry.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:

2.
3.

There is already a working ebuild for 1.5_p1 in Portage, sync your tree.

True, and that ebuild works fine with minor tweaks (does not create the devices with mknod; have to to that by hand but thats ok)

The init script works flawless for me after removing the ! in the following line of /etc/init.d/bcrypt :

if [ ! -c /dev/.devfsd ]

Michael: Thanks, that saved my day :-)

I wonder, how is this bug marked "FIXED" while the script wont produce a working bescrypt install. As the bcrypt init script needs tweaking.

On another note, I had to install Bescrypt manually, because I got errors about missing linux/autoconf.h. Is this a bug? I've used genkernel to create a 2.6 kernel.
