Description Matthew Kennedy (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-01-10 23:44:50 UTC
I am sponsoring Blake Matheny <bmatheny@purdue.edu> as a new developer candidate. Please send Blake the questionnaire and any other details as soon as possible.

His ebuilds (search bugzilla) are of excellent quality, and he shows interest in joining the seriously understaffed Scheme herd.

Matt

Matt, have you done the developer training? docs, repoman, ebuilds, qa, etc?
Comment 2 Matthew Kennedy (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-01-15 21:15:12 UTC
Seemant, not yet. But will be

recruiters (avenj/seement/etc.): I have sent CVS/SSH access information etc. to this developer in preparation for when they finally get their account.

I have submitted a signed copyright assignment form, my gpg key, my dsa public key, and the answers to the quiz. Is there anything else I need?

Old bug, already set up
Comment 6 Deedra Waters (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-08-27 06:11:20 UTC
Reopening.
 I'm retiring him.
He's been inactive for a long time, was supposed to be doing infra work, but hasn't been seen in ages.
I believe he also had cvs access, but I think he's one of the ones disabled for inactivity
I've had kurt disable his accounts, and I'm pulling him from lists.
Comment 7 Deedra Waters (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-08-27 06:11:45 UTC
reassigning to devrel.
Comment 8 Kurt Lieber (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-08-27 06:14:12 UTC
Just to be clear -- he wasn't brought on to be an infra dev. I don't want this black mark on my record. I have enough already. :)
Comment 9 Tim Yamin (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-08-27 06:17:42 UTC
Marked as "Gone" on the developer list.
Comment 10 Deedra Waters (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-08-27 06:21:53 UTC
I know kurt. It was more of a note of the last thing I knew he was doing.
I found an email address in earlier comments of this bug. I've set a forward for him to that email address for now.
Comment 11 Jeremy Huddleston (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-08-29 18:56:22 UTC
He has contacted me and is interestead in becoming active again. The sound herd needs help, so I will mentor him in that capacity.
Comment 12 Deedra Waters (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-08-29 19:00:17 UTC
I want to put him on a probationary period of at least a month before we look at making him a dev again. I've talked to him about this, and he knows this and understands why.
He didn't contact anyone when he disappeared, and he needs to realize that if he comes back again, he needs to be active and responsible.
Since little to nothing is known about him currently, I think he needs to wait a bit before we start his new dev process.
Have him work in bugzilla, provide fixes, ebuilds, etc, and let's see how his work is.
Comment 13 Deedra Waters (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-08-29 19:31:11 UTC
Reassigning back to recruiters since he wants to become a dev again...
Comment 14 Jeremy Huddleston (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-08-29 23:52:15 UTC
is jake@gentoo.org forwarding email to his valid email? If not, we should change his bugzilla account to have the valid email address.

removing myself from the CC to avoid dupe emails...
Comment 15 Deedra Waters (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-08-30 05:30:16 UTC
Yes, it does. I'll make sure his forward stays alive
Comment 16 Jeremy Huddleston (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-10-06 13:22:52 UTC
I've heard nothing from him... he said his computer went down, but that was about 3 weeks ago... I'm closing this.
Comment 17 Deedra Waters (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-10-06 13:29:05 UTC
I had opened this bug for tracking purposes.
He said he wanted to be involved again, so I said ok, but I want to see some progress, like what he's doing, how active he is etc. I never intended for the new dev process to be started on him.

Though, since I've only heard from him once since it was opened, I'm guessing that he doesn't want to be involved.
