Description aditsu 2011-08-05 15:15:20 UTC
When IBus is running, I can't copy text with Ctrl+C e.g. in kwrite. It only works in the same window, I can't paste it in any other windows. Same thing happens in dolphin's address bar, or in konsole (Ctrl+Shift+C). If I close IBus, shortcuts immediately work again.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Get IBus running in KDE
2. Open any KDE application (possibly any QT application?)
3. Select some text and use a keyboard shortcut to copy it
4. Try to paste the text in any other window
Actual Results:
Nothing happens

Expected Results:
Paste the selected text

Could you provide Qt version?
Comment 5 aditsu 2011-08-10 15:46:15 UTC

> Could you provide Qt version?

Sure, 4.7.2 (qt-core is 4.7.2-r1)
Comment 6 Andreas K. Hüttel archtester gentoo-dev 2011-10-25 19:38:23 UTC
Do you still have this problem in kde-4.7.2 ?
Comment 7 aditsu 2011-10-26 00:35:55 UTC
Yes, every time. Close ibus -> problem goes away. Start ibus -> problem comes back.
Comment 8 aditsu 2011-10-31 15:12:20 UTC
The "see also" kde bug was reported by me (before I found out it was related to ibus)
Comment 9 Johannes Huber (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2012-01-21 00:08:54 UTC
Can you confirm that >=app-i18n/ibus-1.4.0 solves the problem?
Comment 10 aditsu 2012-02-17 15:01:41 UTC
Oh, forgot to reply. Yes ibus 1.4.0 solves this particular problem. It still has some remaining issues, but they are different.
Comment 11 Johannes Huber (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2012-02-17 15:12:30 UTC
@cjk How about stable >=app-i18n/ibus-1.4.0?
