Description Wim van Ravesteijn 2004-01-09 08:48:37 UTC
When I was installing the updated gentoo-sources-2.4.22 I couldn't find anywhere in menuconfig evms support, although it was in the 2.4.20 version. There is still the evms2 USEflag mentioned on the page where you can choose your kernel. I have evms-1.2.1 installed, the USEflag 'evms2' is not set.

gentoo-sources-2.4.22 has device mapper patches(so evms2+ should work), but no
specific evms patches, so none of the evms2 bonus features are available. The
main problem is I didn't use any USE flags on the 2.4.22 based gentoo-sources,
so it wasn't possible to support both using some patching tricks. I had to
make a choice between the 2, and chose the newer version of evms (also the
evms guys haven't updated the 1.2.1 patches in awhile). That page doesn't
apply to gentoo-sources-2.4.22 only 2.4.20. Until you update your volumes to
work with evms2, you're going to be stuck with gentoo-sources-2.4.20.
