When I've booted with kernel 2.6 I need to have to move the mouse for a while (3-4 seconds) until the mousepointer moves with it - it seems, that the mousedriver is starting _very_ slow. It doesn't matter if I'm using the mouse directly after booting or half an hour later. I'm booting into kdm/kde and I'm using the stable packages. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Expected Results: The mousepointer should move immediatly when I push the mouse.
That's a feature. The kernel is autodetecting your mouse type, as 2.6.x kernels translate all mice into psaux. 'Fraid there's not much that can be done about that.
In fact, for me it was solved by changing the 'Option "Protocol" "Auto"' to 'Option "Protocol" "IMPS/2" in XF86Config (which also fixed a problem with my mouse wheel)
