Description Matt Keadle 2002-06-15 15:47:02 UTC
After emergeing opera-static, you get this in an info window:

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Unicode translation table file missing:
/usr/share/opera/unicode.dat

Character table file missing:
/usr/share/opera/chartables.bin

Check your configuration. Missing tables will limit display of
international text.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Symlinking /opt/opera/share -> /usr/share/opera does the trick, but of course
this isn't the long term sollution.

Cheers!

In the interest of completeness, the correct path should be:

/opt/opera/share

May be obvious, but to much information is better then not enough.

AFAIK, this happens because OPERA_DIR environment variable is not defined in
your environment. Opera's ebuild installs /etc/env.d/10opera6, that should take
care of this problem.

IF this problem occurs even if OPERA_DIR is set to /opt/opera/share, please
reopen this bug.
