Much as the title suggests, audacious cannot hide its window anymore by use of the "Global Hotkey" plugin.
All other hotkeys I've tested (Play/Pause, Next, Volume) still work flawlessly. Hiding the window by clicking the tray icon also works as it should. Showing it again after it's been hidden works both ways.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Assign a hotkey for toggling the window and press it.
Actual Results:  
Either the window appears (it was hidden) or nothing (it's visible)

Expected Results:  
Either the window appears (it was hidden) or it disappears (it's visible)

Sadly, this is still the case for me with 3.0.2.

Shame, I hoped we cracked that one. It would be best to report this upstream so that it gets fixed for 3.0.3; I have linked the JIRA tracker in the URL field for your convenience.

This is not an issue in how Audacious is packaged on Gentoo Linux (note that we do not apply patching, ever) and as such the report does not belong on this tracker.
