Version 0.12.1 of x11-misc/synaptics has been released. It can be emerged using a renamed version of the synaptics-0.12.1 ebuild and seems to work fine using xfree-4.3.99.902.
You're lagging behind ;) Version 0.12.3 of x11-misc/synaptics has been released. It can be emerged using a renamed version of the synaptics-0.12.1 ebuild and seems to work fine using xfree-4.3.99.902. Let's kick 'em into portage.
I know, I've been working on xfree-4.3.0-r4, everything will be updated at or before its release (which I hope to be within a week or so).

I've attached a synaptics-0.12.3.ebuild. Though outside the scope of this bug, it will build against the XFree86 SDK if available.
Oh and Donnie, or whoever commits this, uncomment the RDEPEND. (Doh)
Hi, there's already synaptics-0.12.4 out in the wild :) I took the 0.12.1 ebuild and had to change the sed command in src_install to get along with the sandbox. I also changed one installation path from /usr/local/bin to /usr/bin works fine 4 me cya Poly

Bryan, commit whenever you're ready the new version with your changes.
Bryan see my above comment, didn't notice you weren't on here.
Created attachment 26142 [details] corrected ebuild for synaptics-0.12.4 Hi, my fixes were not really good in my previous ebuild so here is an updated one. Now the man pages were also installed under /usr and not /usr/local My sandbox workaround was also very ugly so I hope that this will now look better :) bye Poly
Perhaps you'd prefer to make a diff against the ebuild currently in portage?
synaptics-0.12.4 has been added to the tree. I'm glad to say the sandbox workaround is no longer needed. DESTDIR stuff has finally been added to the Makefile. Also, this release has the added ability to build against the XFree86 SDK if available. Please sync to get the update.
Hi, sorry, didn't notice that. Maybe I should deactivate PORTDIR_OVERLAY sometimes :) I will try the official ebuild in the next days. Poly
