Description Tom Lloyd 2011-07-14 16:47:18 UTC
Hover the mouse over the right-hand side of a tab in Chromium, (12.0.742.112 and earlier versions), in the area where it overlaps the next tab. A tooltip for the lefthand tab will appear, but the righthand tab will be highlighted. Click and the righthand tab is activated.
Minor I know, but annoying. Chromium's misinterpreted my click enough times to annoy me into filing a bug about it.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open two tabs in Chromium
2. Click one on its righthand side, further in the x-direction than where it begins to slope down at the top
Actual Results:
The tab to the right is selected

Expected Results:
The tab you clicked should have been selected

A small screenshot illustrating the problem

The white cross shows approximately where the mouse was. As you can see, it is definitely on the Facebook side, and the tooltip agrees with that. But the Bugzilla tab is hilighted, and had I clicked then Bugzilla is the tab which would have been selected.
Comment 2 Tom Lloyd 2011-07-14 16:57:40 UTC
I should add that it doesn't matter if the tab is pinned or not. I just happened to use that area in the screenshot.
Comment 3 Mike Gilbert gentoo-dev 2011-07-18 00:20:19 UTC
I can confirm this, and it still happens in 14.0.825.0 (Developer Build 92808 Linux).

However, it seems like a problem that the Chromium folks would need to solve. Can you look for it in the upstream bug tracker and file a new issue if you don't find one?

Comment 4 Tom Lloyd 2011-07-18 18:05:40 UTC
It is indeed on the upstream bugtracker. The URL for it has been attached to this bug.
Comment 5 Mike Gilbert gentoo-dev 2011-07-18 18:55:41 UTC
Thanks for finding that.
