Description Stratos Psomadakis (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-07-14 09:37:17 UTC
sys-process/procps will fail to correctly handle 3.x kernel releases. Uptime and related commands will give an error/warning ("Non-standard uts for running kernel:
release 3.0-rc7=3.0.0 gives version code 196608").

In the Debian, Fedora and openSUSE fork of procps git repo [1], there's already a patch fixing the issue. [2]

Although, Linux-3.0 will probably keep the EXTRAVERSION, since there are still some issues with userspace utils, this can be an issue in the future.

should be fixed with procps-3.2.8_p11 if not earlier
