Description Dustin Polke 2011-07-11 19:25:44 UTC
Peter, autofs-4.1.4 is in the tree long enough without a bug reported
specifically against this version.
I've run it with all USE flags disabled since two weeks without problems. I think
this is ready to be pushed to stable.

If you agree, please add ARCHS.

Target keywords are:
KEYWORDS="alpha amd64 hppa ia64 ppc sparc x86"

Thanks.

Arch teams, please, mark this version stable. TIA.

Compile ok on amd64, but the daemon does not start. Can you give us more info how to test?

To test a location on the box running autofs, e.g. a cdrom mount:
1) In /etc/autofs/auto.master: Uncomment the line starting with '/misc'.
2) In /etc/autofs/auto.misc: Uncomment the line starting with 'cd' and adjust the device if necessary (for me its /dev/hda instead of /dev/cdrom).
4) (Re-)start autofs daemon.
3) Access a cd via /misc/cd: 'ls /misc/cd'.

Of course, you can test any device (floppy, usb stick, harddisk). Make sure the device/partition is set correctly and the file system.

If you have the possibility to access samba shares:
1) In /etc/autofs/auto.master: Uncomment the line starting with '/smb'.
2) (Re-)start autofs daemon.
3) Access a share via /smb/$hostname/$share.

If you have the possibility to access nfs shares:
1) In /etc/autofs/auto.master: Uncomment the line starting with '/net'.
2) (Re-)start autofs daemon.
3) Access a share via /nfs/$hostname/$share.

On x86 I get sandbox violation;

configure: creating ./config.status
config.status: creating Makefile.conf
config.status: WARNING: 'Makefile.conf.in' seems to ignore the --datarootdir setting

David, I've added addpredict into 4.1.4 too. Please, retest.

Comment 11 Peter Volkov (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-10-05 14:31:25 UTC
Arch teams, we've just fixed deprecated opts in init script (bug 385639). Do
you want to wait month before stabilization or stabilize autofs-4.1.4-r1 right now? Please, decide and do something.
