Upgrading mesa from 7.10.3 to 7.11_rc1 results in a changed colormap. For example, boarders of windows (e.g. firefox, terminals) have gone from blue to brown, the sun icon in a tray weather app is now blue instead of yellow, etc. mesa was the only upgrade so no other s/w change is implicated. I'm using xf86-video-nouveau with an onboard nvidia GeForce 7100 / nForce 630i] [10de:07e1] device. Also, xfce and compiz. Generally I use mesa-9999 from the x11 overlay (with periodic upgrades) but I did downgrade to 7.10.3 to check that version, which is fine. The problem appeared after git commit 130e7ead87a065faefc7bb03e680c80e04c0a637 which was used by mesa-9999 when installed on June 14th. Reproducible: Always
Just to confirm that git commit 130e7ead87a065faefc7bb03e680c80e04c0a637 was not problematic. A further look at my logs indicates that git commit c250363022ea2d4d8de1a1660431f35d8b92aca4, installed on 1st July, was probably bad, but I can't be definite.

(In reply to comment #2) > Please also report this upstream on https://bugs.freedesktop.org/ if no report > already exists. Then add the bug URL to this bug. I should have got round to reporting this by now but haven't, apologies. However, the patch referred to in https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375337#c8 fixes things such that the colormap problem is no longer present with the live ebuild as at git commit 8d044047f133ad4e4c4f1f6b4a4a1c4a9fa477f5 The patch is flagged as a candidate for 7.11 but I can't see that it has made it to that tree yet.
Fixed in CVS.
