Proftpd (1.2.9_rc2) installs a config file for xinetd in /etc/xinetd.d with an error. Line 13: log_on_failure = HOST RECORD "RECORD" is not a valid flag in xinetd-2.3.12, which logs the following: xinetd[17119]: WARNING: Bad log_on_failure flag: RECORD [file=/etc/xinetd.d/proftpd] [line=13] xinetd[17119]: ERROR: Error parsing attribute log_on_failure - DISABLING SERVICE [file=/etc/xinetd.d/proftpd] [line=13]
Proftpd is started by default as a standalone daemon from /etc/init.d/proftpd, so this typo is relatively innocuous, however it would be appropriate to clean this up so that someone who wanted to run it via xinetd wouldn't trip over this.
Fixed in CVS. Please test and report.
