Description Yannick Bertrand 2004-01-06 19:36:00 UTC
At the compile phase of the ermerging, while configuring the sources, the script config.guess didn't know about the architecture I was running on because the version of the script was too old.

The script config.guess from /usr/share/automake-1.7 was working correctly and output the following :

powerpc64-unknown-linux-unknown

So I copied it over the one in /var/tmp/portage/findutils... and did an ebuild compile instead of an emerge, but findutils would also complained about an unknown architecture.

I finally hacked the script for it to output this instead (removed the 64) :

powerpc-unknown-linux-unknown

And it worked perfectly...

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start with the stage 1 file stage1-ppc-1.4_final.tbz2
2. Execute bootstrap.sh
3. Do an emerge system and it will eventualy stop on findutils

this bug still valid with 4.1.20-r1 ?
Comment 2 Yannick Bertrand 2004-06-22 08:34:44 UTC
Version 4.1.20-r1 now compiles correctly, thank you.
