Created attachment 279273 [details] updated squid ebuild Squid 3.2.0.* is still considered "in test", but is has some interesting new features. My favourite new feature is the conntrack support which essentially reads the firewall mark on the incoming connection and applies it to the outgoing connection. This allows firewall marking to effectively continue through the proxy allowing useful features such as per user bandwidth or policy control I have bumped the ebuild and forward ported the gentoo patches for my own use. Attached here in the hope they help the maintainer (or anyone else). Note this is still only lightly tested and I would draw attention to the auth helper names which have all been updated for consistency - the ebuild may need some tweaking in this area

Hmm, sorry it seems that I have botched the attachment naming... Is there some way to adjust their names without obsoleting and updating again? Names would more usefully be: squid-3.2.0.9.ebuild squid-3.2.0.9-gentoo.patch
thx! compiles well, but I had to switch to daily build because of some annoying warning and debug messages. looking forward 3.2.0.10 or even some stable release.
Agree - technically, 3.2.0.8 is "stable", .0.9 is a heavy development release due to new multithread stuff being merged, where current HEAD is now considered pretty stable (waiting for .10 to release). then .11 is likely to get creaky as a bunch of new features go in, and look for .12 to be the next stable-ish release. 3.2 has some very interesting features though, so well worth tracking even given these caveats. I'm looking to use it in production...
I personally look for min-size & max-size options ported from 2.x series: I would like to cache small objects on SSD(s) and big ones on the regular HDD(s).
=net-proxy/squid-3.2.1 is in the tree. Closing.
