When I upgraded mail-client/thunderbird to 5.0 and then ran it, the "Timezone Definitions for Mozilla Calendar" extension was disabled. I am unable to reproduce this, could you completely remove tb and ensure there are no files left around that would cause failrue in /usr/lib/thunderbird and re-emerge please.
I've just done a 'quickpkg mail-client/thunderbird' and 'emerge -C mail-client/thunderbird', then verified that /usr/lib/thunderbird was gone, and did a 'emerge -k mail-client/thunderbird'. The problem seems to have gone away! However, I don't know if that's what fixed the problem as I forgot to check the problem was still present before I removed it. Also, my machine has been rebooted a couple of times since and I even rebuilt thunderbird yesterday as well. I'll resolve the bug as WORKSFORME, as I have no idea what the original problem was and it's gone away now!
