The icon for GIMP doesn't show up in my Graphics menu in KDE like it did with GIMP 1.2.x

hmmm think it's more something for the KDE people to figure out.

Does this still apply to gimp-2.0.4?

The current version of Gimp installs the following link:

/usr/share/applications/gimp-2.0.desktop -> /usr/share/gimp/2.0/misc/gimp.desktop

This should provide the icon in the menus. Please reopen if this is still an issue.
