The GNOME Configuration HOWTO still mentions hal, which apparently isn't used anymore in GNOME.  This confuses new users.

Gnome team: any other love that the guide needs? It hadn't been updated since June 2010. Send us an email, please, or comments/patches on this bug. Thanks!
