I am experiencing troubles with x11-base/xorg-server-1.10.2 (everything is just fine with v1.9.5) when trying to span my desktop across two monitors (TwinView using nvidia-settings), the X server gets stuck and eventually seg faults every time I try to use both external display together with the internal one. HW used: Lenovo T410s, NVIDIA NVS 3100M, second monitor HP LP2475w connected via display port. Please note tha the notebook has two VGAs but only NVIDIA one is allowed in the BIOS. SW used: xorg-server-1.10.2, nvidia-drivers-270.41.06, kernel 2.6.38-gentoo-r6 Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Normally boot to KDE environment using only internal display 2. Run nvidia-settings and try to span the desktop across two monitors Actual Results: The external monitor gets some signal (it turns on), but displays nothing, the internal screen displays some garbage. After a while, the X server seg faults. Expected Results: The desktop spans across both displays and I can continue to work.

Update. I tried again with new vesion of nvidia-drivers (x11-drivers/nvidia-drivers-270.41.19) and the issue seems to be resolved. I am now able to use x11-base/xorg-server-1.10.2 with dual displays.
Another update. I was too quick in writing the previous comment. After some more testing I realizd that I can SOMETIMES switch to dual displays without hang/segfault of X server, but even if it doesn't crash, there are strange artifacts (many dots of different colors randomly distributed, changing when the contents of the screen changes) in display. I am going back to working xorg-server 1.9.5 for now.
I have the same problems,so i fall back to use xorg-server-1.9.3 in myself overlay
Pleas retest with the latest X and the latest nvidia-drivers.
