i'd like it if spyderous would add his custom overlay (just put it in package.mask)

That's a tough request at this point, both because of (1) its upstream status as pre-alpha and (2) my lack of time to support bugs on pre-alpha software.

I've been thinking about it for a while and will continue to do so until I make a decision I feel comfortable with.

For now, http://dev.gentoo.org/~spyderous/overlay-freedesktop/ has what you want. Be sure to read the README.

Cleaning old bugs with state LATER.

This one was bit obviously fixed thanks to that we are all using the fdo xorg now :]
