Created attachment 277137 [details] Revdep-rebuild output
Looks like the dev-lang/ifc ebuilds ought to be setting SEARCH_DIRS_MASK in a file in /etc/revdep-rebuild/ since re-emerging ifc doesn't actually rebuild anything.
Please try icc/ifc from the sci overlay. We need feedback on those packages before moving them to the tree. But alltogether, they are in a much better shape than the once in the tree.

Please test latest from the overlay. I don't knpw the correct version sorry.
(In reply to comment #5) > Please test latest from the overlay. I don't knpw the correct version sorry. I did. I tried installing and tested revdep-rebuild, and it was all good. I tried downgrading back to 10.0.026-r1 and the problem was there again. I ripped out all instances of ifc and installed only the latest revision from the science overlay, 12.0.4.191, and retested. The revdep-rebuild issue is definitely resolved by that version. What remains to be done before it can be stabilized in portage?

Is this solved with ifc-13*?
Seems to be fixed. PLease reopen if not.
