Description Vladimir 2011-06-10 21:32:58 UTC
sci-libs/gdal installation stops unexpectedly after compiling on install_qa_check stage.
it lists files with complaining:
...
 * QA Notice: //usr/lib64/python3.1/site-packages/osgeo/ogr.py installed in ${D}/${D}
...
and finally:
 * Aborting due to QA concerns: 29 files installed in /var/tmp/portage/sci-libs/gdal-1.8.0-r1/image///var/tmp/portage/sci-libs/gdal-1.8.0-r1/image/

PS: see `emerge --info` in addition. I also tried to build with USE += sqlite

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. just run emerge =sci-libs/gdal-1.8.0-r1
Actual Results:
Installation fails...)

Expected Results:
I expected proper package installation because compiling passed successfully.

 * Call stack:
 *   misc-functions.sh, line 981:  Called install_qa_check
 *   misc-functions.sh, line 464:  Called die
 * The specific snippet of code:
 * die "Aborting due to QA concerns: ${INSTALLTOD} files installed in ${D}/${D}"

For meantime just keep only one python install around (eg py2.6 py2.7, or so)
This issue is in the buildsystem itself and probably will take some time to solve.
Comment 4 Vladimir 2011-06-16 00:17:08 UTC
Thanks!
Comment 5 Steve Arnold archtester gentoo-dev 2011-07-05 01:03:37 UTC
AFAICT, most people were not hit with this particular install error, so I didn't rev-bump it this time. Please re-sync in a little while and try it again, then confirm whether it works for you or not (it should). Thanks...
Comment 6 Vladimir 2011-07-07 05:02:30 UTC
It works, thank you!
Need test, or close case?
Comment 7 Steve Arnold archtester gentoo-dev 2011-07-16 08:29:40 UTC
Just the confirmation is fine for closure purposes. Thanks.
Comment 8 Tomáš Chvátal (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-07-18 11:02:28 UTC
@vladimir:
confirmed == bug is confirmed to be present ;)
you are not required to confirm RESOLVED FIXED status :), and if you do so, comment is enough :)

OK, I'm a newbie to Bugzilla terminology :)
