Description Keith Edmunds 2004-01-03 04:14:00 UTC
Sylpheed-claws uses metamail to open attachments, but metamail is not a dependency of SC. This is why none of my attachments have opened automatically!

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

Could you give me some details what the problem is ? I don't have metamail and can use SC just fine, also I don't see any change with metamail (not saying that there is none, but I can't find one).
Comment 2 Keith Edmunds 2004-01-13 00:03:46 UTC
SC uses metamail to identify which program to use to open MIME attachments. Right-click on the icon representing, say, a PDF document and select 'open'. Nothing will happen without metamail; instead you'll need to use 'open with' and select a PDF viewer. So long as a line similar to "application/pdf; xpdf '%s'" exists in /etc/mailcap then - with metamail installed - merely selecting 'open' for an attachment will open it.

Does that help?

fixed in cvs
Comment 4 Marius Mauch (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-01-14 20:26:36 UTC

Comment 6 Aron Griffis (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-01-15 07:15:05 UTC
all set on alpha, sparc's turn
Comment 7 Gustavo Zacarias (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-01-15 16:25:19 UTC
